Universia Colombia interviewed Jorge Mario González Barrera, Telecommunications Engineer graduated from the Catholic University of Colombia, who works in the ICT Ministry and whose highest professional aspiration is to found his own company.
Jorge tells us that he decided to study telecommunications engineering for the great future he promises , as well as being a current topic: "Studying this branch of engineering helps people to communicate easily and efficiently ." It is recommended for those who are interested in the operation of technology and are willing to constantly update, because they make new discoveries every day.
One of the roles of the telecom field engineer in the design of new communication systems is to analyze the physical properties of the transmission medium. The professional today occupies digital and analogue networks throughout the world (including oceans) where there are people who need to communicate.
Its task is to design, install, operate and maintain radio and television broadcasting equipment and networks, fixed telephone networks (copper pairs and coaxial), mobile and global telephones through satellite telephones, private and public data communication networks. It uses all available means, copper, optical fiber, radios and satellites, achieving scalable networks and rationalizing infrastructure investments.
