A career in the health care sector is challenging yet rewarding. No health care service provider can do without the services of quality CNA, hence they always remain in demand and have good career prospects. A person willing to go for such career can prefer to become either licensed practical nurse or vocational nurse.
A licensed practical nurse has to earn CNA license to start working with various medical facilities. Their job may include anything from taking vital signs, changing bandages, taking care of food and liquid intake, feeding the patients, taking them for a walk and helping them use toilet and maintain hygiene. The LPN should get his CNA license renewed every two years so as to continue with his job. However, in other events like, if you lose the license, you should get in touch with the concerned State Nursing Board and send a request for CNA license search. You may have to write an application and submit documents along with requisite fee to initiate the process of CNA license verification. A person with CNA license can work with any health care service provider across the US without inviting legal trouble.
A licensed vocational nurse too performs the same duties as a LPN only he is not an independent practitioner. He works under the direction of a registered nurse or physician and renders basic nursing care to the patients. He may be employed with health care providers like, doctor's offices, outpatient clinics, blood banks, acute medical care centers, vocational nursing programs and psychiatric hospitals.
For a LPN it is mandatory to also go through a detailed background checking before he is awarded with the CNA license to start practicing. Even if you don't actually belong to a state you have got the job you can always avail the CNA license transfer to move to other state like Mississippi & Phoenix etc and take up the job there.
The career in the field of medicine as LPN or LVN may not earn you handsome salaries but you are rewarded with the satisfaction at having made a positive difference to someone's life besides the job security that comes with it.
